Maybelene Alvarez – Property Manager, Office Administration

maybelene-alverez-profileHello! I am Maybelene Alvarez, you can also call me Belle. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration major in Building and Property Management at University of Makati.

Recently, I was laid-off by my employer, due to the health and safety risk of Covid-19, and even though I got a job offer in one of the well-known Property Management companies here in the Philippines, I decided to decline it. By that time, I came to the decision on growing and becoming a Virtual Assistant.

Growing up in a poor family gave me the drive to study hard. Going to college requires a lot of financial support. To help my parents with our finances, I decided to work as a part-time service crew. I’ve worked with different branches of Jollibee and McDonalds throughout my college life. Even while I was working, I was also active with our local school organisation. I was appointed in my last year in the University as our local organisation’s Executive Treasurer. I finished my degree in 2015.

Currently, I have a total work experience of 5 years in a corporate set-up. I’ve been with different Real Estate companies here in the Philippines with different job roles. I started my career in a rank and file position as Documentations Assistant, and last year I was assigned to become a Property Manager of a Residential Condominium in the heart of CBD (Central Business District). In my early working years, most of my tasks revolved around administrative works. When I reached the Property Manager position, it broadened my skills. From then, I started handling a team, maybelene-alvarez-tripmaking regular reports, and my network also expanded.

I must say that what I love the most in all my jobs before is the interaction with different people. Starting from being a service crew, to a rank and file employee, to a successful manager of a condominium.

To be a Virtual Assistant is a new career track for me. I’m nervous because this is not what I am used to do, but I think now is the time to take risks and to get out of my comfort zone. Little by little, I got to know how the industry works by joining facebook groups of Filipino freelancers and by watching videos on Youtube.

In time, I know I will be fit for client’s business requirements. By showing my exceptional work ethics, I believe that this industry will lead me to my long-term career path.

I’m looking forward to working with you.
