Poebe Jean Samanta Lilio – Customer Service Specialist
Hi there! I’m Poebe and this is my story.
I am a part of a broken family. I am an only child and was raised by my mum. Even at a young age, I can clearly see how hard life is. But being the only child that I am, I became very dependent and I can say, weak. I did not know how to stand up for myself.
Luckily, I have the most incredible mum in the world. She got me through everything. She sent me to school and provided for all of my needs. I was able to graduate high school. I even got the chance to enter college. I took up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Entrepreneurship. All thanks to my mum’s hard work.
But life really is full of surprises. When I was in my second year, my mum got really sick. She had to stop working and I had to stop going to school.
That was the turning point of my life…
Everything changed in an instant. I realised that there was no one else that I can depend on but myself. I couldn’t depend on my mum anymore because she was now the one who was depending on me. So I pulled myself together and tried to be the strongest person that I can be. It was hard. But it’s something that I had to do for myself and for my mum. So at the age of 18, I got my first job as a call center agent. I worked as a Technical Support expert and later became a Customer Service Representative. This gave me the opportunity to communicate with other people. Not only with my colleagues but also with the people around the US, UK and Australia that I assisted over the phone. Overtime, I became confident, strong and independent. God truly is amazing. Before, I was the one being provided for. But now, I am the one who is providing.
I am now 24 years old, still working in a BPO company as a Virtual Professional (and have been for more than 3 years), married to an amazing man and a fur mum to my two beautiful dogs. And soon I will be meeting this little kickboxer inside my tummy. 🙂
I’ve been in the BPO industry for over 6 years now and I am looking forward to becoming a virtual assistant so that can work from home. I have a lot of experiences which honed not only my skills, but also taught me to become a reliable, responsible and a respectful person.
My life is full of ups and downs. It was hard… but it is beautiful.
