Resselle Mae Batucan – Entrepreneur, Customer Service
Hi, I am Resselle Mae D. Batucan; you can call me Ress. I am a newlywed and a mother-to-be. I completed 3 years in college taking up BS Nursing, and I also studied respiratory therapy for 2 years. With all that science education, I still chose business as my main career. The moment I got out of college, I directly entered the retail business world. I like dealing with people, catering to their needs and wants, studying the trends, and applying all the things I noticed to the society in need. It was not a walk in the park, but I thrived, and it was fulfilling.
Last year, life taught me hard. My business was slowly fading due to some circumstances, so I decided to transition from being my own employer to becoming an employee; I joined the BPO industry. Transition was hard at first because of the schedule, but I survived the graveyard shifts. The work there was somehow like what I used to do—dealing with clients, assessing them, helping them navigate tools, accounting, bank-to-client assessment, and bookkeeping. It opened my eyes to how aggressive and competitive the corporate world is.
When I was already in my 6th month as an agent, I came to know then that I’m pregnant. Life really has its twists and turns. So I resigned and am now slowly building my business back to its prime. It’s quite hard; that is why I ended up applying to various remote jobs. I am not afraid to try and get up again because I know my ability. I always see the good in every situation that I’m in; I always take it as a room for growth, improvement, and success.
I can say that working remotely will have a huge impact on me. It may be quite a challenge to deal with, but I am used to it. I am used to working and planning alone on how to progress my work. I am confident to say that I am self-dependent, but also I will not deny the fact that asking for help won’t hurt anybody. I am eager to learn new things that would help me broaden my mentality.
I believe that I’m an asset to the team rather than a liability. I can lead, and I can also follow. I am ready to take responsibilities, pressure, and rush because I know what I can do and what I can contribute to the company.
