Rubimarie Tonogbanua – Online Entrepreneur

Hello! My name is Rubi Marie Zaragoza Tonogbanua. You can call me Rubi.

I took up Bachelor of Science Major in Tourism but I wasn’t able to finish my studies because my parents could no longer afford to send me to school. I decided to look for a job and I was fortunate enough to be hired as an Assistant Secretary in a Private Clinic. My task was to update the clients and update clients record. That was my first job but I only stayed there for 3 months because I needed to move to another place.

I’ve been working in the BPO industry for more than 5 years now. I first worked as a Customer Service Representative where I handled UK online accounts. I must say that my first account trained me to be better in a lot things like multitasking and dealing with irate customers. I worked for this account for 4 months before resigning due to my pregnancy.

Since I am the breadwinner of the family, I decided to look for a job after giving birth in order to support my family and my son. I landed a job as a Collections Consultant in a private Company. I did both inbound and outbound work. We handled different types of accounts and different clients based in Australia like phone bills, internet, personal loans, car loans, electricity, and gas bills.

I am very assertive on every call to hit my daily target and for me to be able to get incentives. I also do cold calling and send daily reports direct to the client. I lasted there for more than 5 years, but I had to leave in order to look after my son.

I’m a hardworking single mum who is willing to sacrifice and do everything for my son. I’m also an entrepreneur. I love fashion and beauty products, so I decided to start an online business. I sell bags, shoes, beauty products and other preloved clothes.

At the moment, I’ve been working as a Virtual Assistant for a year now. It wasn’t easy at first since I am new to this field. I’ve been through a lot of hardships but giving up is not an option for me. I love working at home because aside from being able to earn, I get to be with my son and watch him grow.

I am flexible, reliable, and eager to learn and explore more as a Virtual Assistant and to provide good and quality service to my clients.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. Just “have faith and God won’t let us down”
