Sally Downie – Virtual Assistant

Hi, I am Sally Downie, a virtual assistant trading as The Rural Virtual Assistant. I live and work on a beautiful sheep and cropping farm with my partner David. I really do get to experience the best of both worlds, working in the office, jumping on the tractor or working in the sheep yards. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Agricultural Science and Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. Whilst I have a strong background in agriculture, my skills and knowledge stretch far further. I have worked with the local council in project management roles, I have also worked with the federal government in communications and policy development. Other roles have included administration management and customer service roles.

I have built a wealth of experience through my employment and further studies including business administration studies. I have also completed intensive social media training which also included website design and email marketing. I have experience in all areas of administration, customer service, data entry, report creation, social media management, website management, email marketing, bookkeeping, and scheduling. I am also experienced in executive assistant services, building, and managing online courses, podcast management, sales and writing for blogs and articles. I have excellent communication skills, am highly organised and manage my time efficiently. I work well alone or as part of a team and thrive in environments that are fast-paced and offer a challenge. I am diligent in my work, goal orientated, resourceful, adaptable and have a range of skills and knowledge that allow me to be an outstanding virtual assistant for my clients. I take pride in the work I do, and I am always looking to learn new things and grow my skills.

I enjoy working as a virtual assistant as it allows me to work closely with different clients and use my skills and expertise to help clients grow their businesses. I enjoy the freedom and flexibility of working from home and love working for myself, it gives me a great sense of freedom and accomplishment. I have taken the time to ensure I have the correct set up and efficient systems in place, allowing me to work with clients in a professional and organised manner.

When I am not working, I can be found reading, writing, helping community organisations with their social media, studying, and engaging in personal development activities. I also love to spend time with my dog, Tess and my growing family of chickens and ducks. I aim to continue to grow my career, skills, and knowledge and better myself in all areas of life. I am so passionate about expanding my business and creating a sustainable business model that will serve me and my family in the future. I am actively working to overcome my fear of failure and am ready to set myself up to running a six-figure business that will serve other businesses and inspire other rural women to take charge of their life and do what they love from wherever they call home.
