Angelica Terceño – Accountant

angelica-ann-terceno-vaI am Angelica Ann Terceño but you can call me Angie, a woman with great dreams. Born and raised in the province of Leyte, I am a survivor of one of the strongest typhoons that hit the Philippines, the Typhoon Hiayan (Yolanda). Living in poverty was my greatest motivation to finish my studies so that I can provide the best life to my family. As a daughter of a farmer and having 7 siblings, life was really hard, but with the help of God, we managed to survive.

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Saint Paul School of Business and Law. I am also a Certified Public Accountant here in the Philippines. I took the licensure exam last May of 2016, and I have been in the accounting profession for 5 years now. After passing the licensure exam, I immediately looked for a job to support my younger brother’s college education and my parents who are already Senior Citizens.

My first job was an Accounting Analyst for Mazda Car Dealership. I can say that I am very thankful with the company and my bosses because they have imparted their knowledge, experiences, values, and wisdom in the accounting industry. And to this day, I still apply those values in my career. As an Accounting Analyst, I am the one in-charged of the month-end closing of the books, operational highlights, processing of accounts payable vouchers, bank reconciliations, related party reconciliations and property plant and equipment lapsing, loan amortization and rental expense, and income recording. Unfortunately, I had to resign and leave the company to go back home to my province due to a family problem.

angelica-ann-terceno-vavMy second job was an Accounting Supervisor for a Pharmaceutical Company. It was a short yet memorable experience with the company. I was in charge of the accounting department reporting directly to the accounting manager, this includes the month-end closing, daily approval and checking of accounts payable voucher, checking of bank reconciliations and other functions assigned from time to time.

Currently I am an Accountant in MGS Construction Inc. and I’ve been with the company for the three years now. I am in-charged for the audit of financial statement for external auditor. I file and pay all the company’s taxes, bank reconciliation, inventory count and site audits. I also process accounts payables and do accounts reconciliations.

I am planning to leave my job to stay in our province so that I could be with my family. Getting a remote job would help me to sustain our daily lives even if I am working from home. I also want to pursue further studies like taking up Masters in Business Administration.

I am willing to learn and undergo trainings that would help develop my skills and knowledge. I am a fast-learner, dedicated, and passionate about my work.
