Angel Twenty Requilme – Customer Support Representative, English Tutor
Hello, my name is Angel Twenty Requilme. I know what you’re thinking. Like many others who know me, I know you think it’s unique. I am an only child and my mom passed when I was five. Now, I am a 26 years young Filipina from the heart of the Philippine islands, Bohol. I got my Bachelor’s Degree at AMA University Online Education, major in English.
I read books as early as I can remember. Mama taught me how to read, write, and count before she departed. I remember the very first book I’ve read and it is ‘The Little Princess’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I was in grade 1 then. As soon as I’ve put the book down, I started to write what I feel about it.
After the first book I’ve read, I craved for more. I remember asking Papa to buy me books whenever we go out to the city. He used to choose the book, maybe because I was still so young.
The more I feed my mind with information and emotions, I just can’t stop. When I was in high school I was always at the library borrowing books. Back then I realised that I have to establish my genre. Together with it is my writing style.
I already started writing poetries back in high school. Most of them are about me and my pain. I went to school every day being laughed at because I don’t fit in. I never told anyone about it not even to my Papa. It will just break him inside.
There’s nothing to say anymore of my education journey. However, I still continued to read and write. Aside from poetries, I write short stories as well, though I never get to the ending so the story ended up in the bin.
When I got my degree, I worked as a customer support representative. I only lasted six months there. Previously, I was a private tutor but the kids have summer vacation so I don’t have work. It’s for the best, I think. I am taking my teaching units so I could take the licensure exams and be a licensed teacher.
For now, I am looking for any part-time job that suits my experience and skills. I’m industrious, a team player, creative and can be taught. Working on the comforts of my own space is also something I consider.
