Clement Muga – Healthcare Customer Service Representative, Virtual Assistant
My name is Clement Muga but you can call me Clem. I am an Undergraduate BSIT Student at Saint John Paul II College of Davao. I spend my free time with my family cooking meals at home, watching Netflix, watching anime & reading Manga, playing mobile games, and exploring new places. A fun fact about me is that I love Collecting Pokémon and One Piece Game Cards.
When I was young, my father used to tag me along whenever he had business ventures with his partners in Networking like Enzacta Philippines and Trading like Forex, Crypto and the likes. I always receive compliments that I have good networking skills such as Communication, Empathy, and active listening; and since it’s similar with the relevant skills needed in a Customer Service Representative role, I found it interesting. Even before landing a CSR job, I worked as a Service Crew in a Fast-food restaurant. This experience gave me a preview of Customer Service in general that’s why I never had a hard time transitioning from Food Industry into a Healthcare account.
To ensure our HIPAA guidelines fulfilment and observance, we only have restricted access to patient records which are handled by authorised persons only like our Supervisor and higher-ups, we use exclusive tools for communication of sensitive information, secure physical records and devices, establish clear privacy policies since it’s the most crucial part of our job.
Being a healthcare advocate, I always encountered significant pressure while managing the urgency of Medical Providers’ inquiries during the queuing period so it’s not strange nor overwhelming anymore. In this situation, I quickly assessed the situation, identified priorities, and remained calm and focused on delivering quality service to providers. Despite the high-pressure environment, we efficiently addressed patient inquiries, resolved issues swiftly, and ensured client satisfaction remained a top priority throughout the process. By maintaining composure under pressure and effectively coordinating team efforts, we successfully managed the healthcare account’s demands while upholding service standards and patient care.
I have been assisting medical providers for over 2years and was being upskilled by 4 different Lines of Businesses.
I have worked as a Healthcare Advocate, handling an American-based Insurance account which is Blue Cross Blue Shield Association where I have improved my skills in insurance verification, claims processing and interpretation, and providing eligibility and benefit accumulations to providers.
