Cris Mercado – Accounting, Project Management

cris-jud-vaCris Jud or simply “CJ” is a seasoned Operations Leader with 17 years of solid experience in Finance and Accounting, Software, Technical, and Customer Support.

His earliest roles deal mostly with Technical Support handling both hardware (imagine tearing down a CPU with a customer to identify malfunctioning parts and send an onsite technician to replace and fix the computer) and software troubleshooting (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Dial-Up (YES you read that right, but millennials would be totally clueless!!!) and premium MSN e-mail accounts.

Backed up with an Accounting degree, he transitioned to Finance as Accounting Support seven (7) years later for cloud-based Netsuite ERP(now Oracle Netsuite) and Project Management-specific Deltek Systems answering telephone calls, chat interactions, and handling support tickets for Accounting how-tos such as:

“How do I enter an invoice and generate a 1099-MISC form for a subcontractor?” or “Where do I enter my business credit card statements and how do I reconcile monthly?” or “What is 3-way matching and why is it important?”

Leadership roles soon followed, from Accounting Team Lead handling Inventory Accounting, Finance and Accounting Team Lead handling Cash Reporting, Credit and Collections (including Risk Assessment) to Credit Manager for an Australian beverage company and Billing Supervisor for a US Healthcare company ranging from 6 to35 Specialists and supervising 4 Team Leads at most.

cris-jud-vaHis Freelance career started in October 2019 as an Overall Operations Consultant for an Australian retail company (sales greatly affected due to the start of the Covid-19 pandemic) and transitioned to a Logistics and Planning Coordinator role for a Canada-based specialty cooling and refrigeration company in 2021.

A Jack-of-all trade and an out-of-the-box thinker, he’s comfortable both being a Leader and an Individual contributor and doesn’t discriminate against jobs as long as the work is done and pay is right. His most worthy contributions include Process Improvement initiatives in Voucher Approvals and Processing; Creating, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Quality Audit Guidelines for Customer Support as well as Finance and Accounting-specific roles and teams.

In his free time, he helps in taking care of 8 family dogs and puppies, loves to watch movies at the cinemas eating popcorn or just at home (Netflix, mostly because of the pandemic), or just spend quality with friends and family eating out or social drinking on weekends.
