Dave Andrew Noval – Chat/Email Support Specialist

Hi, I am Dave Andrew Noval, my friends call me Dave. Youngest of three siblings. I’ve finished a two-year course of Associate in Computer Technology at STI College. At first, I never thought that working from home was enjoyable and I never heard of it. It was that instant when the pandemic happened and everyone was working at home. It was relaxing and convenient on my part.

I started as a Service Crew in a fast food chain way back in 2005. This was my first job after finishing high school. After graduating from college, I started to work for BPO companies as a Technical Support where I help our clients with their internet issues, creating appointments for installation, etc. Then I switched to the Gaming industry which is my passion and hobby.

For the past 8 years of experience, I have been working in the Gaming Industry as a Customer Service, Community Management, QA tester, and In-game moderator. I was promoted to an (OIC) officer in charge where I helped my team with their customers, tools questions, and in-game knowledge. I also coordinate with other departments, and clients, and create Daily/Weekly reports.

Then the pandemic came, and all companies decided to start a work-from-home setup due to the Covid. It was not that hard for me to transition from on-site base to work from home base since I am always in front of my computer all the time when I’m at home, and playing video games is my hobby.

Working at home for the past 3 years, helped me to save money since I don’t need to pay for transportation. Especially here in the Philippines, the fare of transportation keeps on fluctuating. I was also able to help my parents at home when needed. I realize while working at home at my previous company you can be productive even if you are in your own space. You can spend time with your family in and stress-free environment. You can also finish your work promptly as long as you’re dedicated and professional with your work.

From that, I gained more knowledge and became more client-friendly and how important they are to the company. I became more patient, understanding, helpful, humble, reliable, diligent, and passionate.

Although this will be a new venture for me and my career, it will not stop me to learn and gain additional skills and knowledge out of my comfort zone. Mistake in life is the best teacher, and challenges in life make you confident.

The digital world is already growing and there are a lot of companies already transitioning to work from home base. Going out there and learning different things or skill sets is not bad, don’t be afraid or discouraged when things don’t go as well as you planned. We are all humans, we have our ups and downs and we can only take one foot step forward at a time.
