Dzon Psalm Caberte – Sales Advisor, Data Preparation Specialist
Hi there! My name is Dzon Psalm Caberte, but Addie is my preferred name. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. I really wanted to be able to work from home like my pals during the pandemic. However, I suppose that kind of working setup was not yet my calling. My first employment was in Manila, where I began working as a call centre agent for Alorica Philippines. Since my family is far away, I was overjoyed to attempt to work and live on my own at last. Because I decided to work and try to survive in the real world without relying on my parents, I was only able to rely on myself. Training and mentorships helped me effectively improve my communication abilities.
Unexpectedly, I was offered with the opportunity to practice my degree in the field of science and with the Lifecore Bio Integrative Inc., I enjoyed working as a Medtech Generalist. Also, I gathered data from various sources, like hospitals and labs, ensuring its comprehensive and up to date. I reviewed the data for errors or inconsistencies, correcting issues to ensure accuracy before analysis. I combine datasets from different systems, creating a unified view of COVID-19 cases for better insights. I worked closely with healthcare professionals and researchers, to understand their needs and ensure the data supports their efforts in fighting the pandemic. I maintained clear records of your processes, making it easy for others to understand how the data was prepared and can be used. I also look for ways to enhance data processes, helping to make data collection and preparation more efficient and effective by doing some additional research.
A new opportunity was surprisingly offered to me by one of the Undersecretary of the Department of Energy to be their official Medtech handling COVID-19 and other medical cases. During my previous experience as a data preparation specialist with the Department of Energy Philippines as an outsourced manpower under LSERV Corporation, I shift through raw data, identifying and correcting inaccuracies or inconsistencies to ensure quality. After, I convert data into a usable format, applying necessary transformations to make it suitable for analysis. I merge data from different sources, ensuring that everything works seamlessly together. Working closely with analysts and stakeholders, my supervisors and mentors I gather requirements to understand what data is needed and how it will be used. I always make sure to keep clear records of my processes and methodologies so everyone understands how data is prepared and can replicate it if needed. I evaluate existing processes and look for ways to streamline and enhance efficiency, making data prep smoother for everyone involved.
I’m excited to keep growing in my career and to learn new skills and knowledge that will help me improve both professionally and personally. I want to apply what I learn to enhance my work and enrich my life.
