Fairy Lou Tagra – CSR and ESL Teacher

Oh hello there! I am Fairy Lou or “Lu” for short, and I would like to be your Virtual Assistant. Who am I and why do I believe myself to be a good choice in this matter? Well, let me tell you a little about myself…

I’ll start by simply describing the family I grew up with. I am 2nd among 6 siblings. Yes, we’re half a dozen! It’s not really hard to be the 2nd child as I still have my sister who’s expected to act a certain way, but of course you have to be a role model for your younger siblings.

I graduated Bachelor of Secondary Education, and learned to have tonnes of patience and dedication to deal with the paperwork, lesson plans, etc. I then took the teacher’s exam and fortunately passed it, and was licensed since 2010.

Now how my journey started?

I landed my 1st job as a Part-time clerk or an Assistant Learning Coordinator in UP Mindanao Open University where I proctor and facilitate student’s exam. I was also in charge of encoding list and its majoring field, and I was also tasked in distributing modules and making an input using Microsoft Applications.

After a year, I decided to get out of my comfort zone. I took a big step and moved away from my hometown, seeking independence. I scored a job as a Customer Service Representative here in Cebu where I was previously assigned as a Sales Support agent for a Voice Over Internet Protocol. This transitioned into providing customer support to travelers’ concerns and complaints any any other issue that may arise during their trip, including booking their itineraries. I’ve also handled customer queries and problems and resolved complex issues regarding billing questions and challenges with the products and services.

Fast forward… you might want to ask why I did not practice my profession. Well challenges- tough times. I strongly believe in the saying “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. During the peak of my BPO career, I met someone and could not believe how much that would change my life. I got married and now am blessed with 2 handsome boys. I am an advocate and believer that life is shaped by one’s experiences and how we act on those experiences.

At present, I am working for a Telco company based in Australia, supporting customers who are calling about billing disputes. I am to deliver the right solution first time and directly address what matters to them. I combine effective communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently, diligently and efficiently.
