Janno Nolasco – Content and Training Specialist

janno-nolasco-vaMy name is Janno Nolasco.

I was born and raised in Manila but moved to the province of Ilocos Norte, up north of the Philippines, to finish high school and college. When I was studying, you would see me as a fun and energetic kid. I honestly believe that adding fun in life would brighten up anyone’s day. This was when I figured out that there is fun in networking with people. I then started joining different clubs. Even made it to become a part of the student council while maintaining my fun side and good grades.

I graduated BS in Nursing and passed the board exam. Like any aspiring nurse in the Philippines, I dreamed of working in another country for better opportunities. But in 2011, the recession happened. A lot of countries limited the number of incoming foreign nurses in their country. This turned my life upside down, but I told myself that life must go on. While I was clueless about life after Uni, I was also lucky to find a job in a call center in Manila. This is when my journey started in the customer service industry.

I have 10 years of solid experience in Customer Service. In my first 5 years, I started at the beginning of the ladder, as an agent when all I needed to do was to take calls and answer emails and make sure how to better the customer’s experience. My hard work paid off and I also found people who had trust in me (they eventually became my mentors along the way). I was given the chance to rise up the ladder to different leadership roles such as a Team Leader, Trainer, and Assistant Training Manager. This opportunity opened up a lot of different skill sets and unleashed potentials.

janno-nolasco-vaMy colleagues and friends would call me the “Swiss Knife” of the group since I could be very helpful in a lot of scenarios. My skill sets include customer service, project management, eLearning system management, order management, communications, graphic designs, script writing, cooking, making coffee, eating, planning how to cut a cake without a knife, painting, singing, dancing and public relations.

In 2018, I left the corporate world to experience the ‘real world’ more and I found that freelancing could cater to that – earning while travelling. I was really glad I found good mentors during my journey in the corporate world, and also glad that YouTube has a lot of videos to learn from. My passion for learn things is another factor. I think it is a never ending process – we always learn something out of anything.

But in 2020, the unprecedented pandemic happened. Good thing in December 2019, I decided to get a dog. She is a husky mix who loves to snuggle, and is patient when learning new tricks. Beyond my work hours, I spend a lot of time with her. I’ve been busy trying to learn tricks to teach her and she’s adorably getting it.

That’s a little bit about me. I am excited to be part of your team and get to know you more. One thing that I’d like to mention is that I am very particular about branding. I think that for any outputs I do, I represent my brand to whoever has the chance to see my output and at the same time I also represent the brand of the company I work for. That is why I always make sure that quality is in it and I could take pride in it.
