Jemimah Awid – Bookkeeper

Hi, my name is Jemimah but you can call me “Jem” for short. Now let me tell you a little bit about me.

When I was a child, I knew that my dream was to become a theatre actress, and in which after high school, I will enroll in an acting and drama class to slowly start my journey and develop my technique further. I have delight in acting, dancing, and singing in front of the mirror. Accounting never came across my mind, unfortunately, the schools in the city don’t offer theater courses, and I must travel far away from my home If I wanted to pursue this type of career. My parents also don’t have enough funds to provide me with this kind of dream, so I knew I had to give up. Nonetheless, I studied and pursued Accounting, which was advised by my family and they were never wrong. The number is now my life and the beginning of something.

I have been working in Finance Industry working for 11 years specialising in general accounting. I enjoy using my skills to contribute to the exciting world of numbers that happens on a day-to-day basis by using a progressive system and applications, including XERO and MYOB. I have also worked in a BPO Industry where I have gained knowledge of how their business works particularly in Australia. I have worked with Australian Clients on a full-time basis focused on full-cycle accounting.

Over the years of working under pressure, I am passionate about the power of positive thinking in the workplace, which helps me with this kind of mindset to improve my efficiency and satisfaction in my work activities.

On the other side, I found great benefits in implementing wellness in my life by including nature tripping, visiting beaches, and enjoying the shore. Being a mom of 3, I must fully stretch my time to have a work-life balance environment and be creative in maximising this time. In this way, I get to enjoy life with my family and at the same time meet all our needs by working on a specific work timeframe.

I am always ready for new design of opportunities, demonstrate my ability of creative ideas and techniques and deliver my talent valuable to the industry.

Perfection doesn’t exist by the way. Constant Progress and Experimentation is what life is about, isn’t it?
