Jennifer Libre – Graphic Design

Jennifer-Libre-vaHi! I am Jennifer Ann Libre from the land of promise, Davao City, Philippines.

I acquired my interest in graphic design/multimedia when I was in high school. I got fascinated by how MS PowerPoint software works on creating digitized presentations (plus the animations!) …rather than using the typical “manila paper” as a tool during class presentations. I remembered those times when I would commute going to school., I enjoyed watching billboards and posters in the streets. Wondering how these things are done. So, because of this fascination, I decided to take a computer-related course in college.
I took a BS in Computer Science. Surprisingly, the course was more on computer programming than designing. Instead of shifting to another course (considering my family’s expenses), I still continued with the course… while self-learning the field of multimedia. I learned by watching tutorials from YouTube, exploring the Adobe Creative tools, meeting people in school with the same interest in multimedia, and by joining a multimedia school club to gain experiences. During our thesis, my partner and I agreed that I am more focused on software design. Afterward, God blessed us with the Best Thesis award.

My first job was being a computer instructor. I taught students about basic fundamentals in computers and had some special classes about graphic designing as requested by the school dean. During this period, I used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom for editing.

Jennifer-Libre-vaI started my graphic design professional career when I joined the marketing team of a retail company. There, I really felt the growth of being a designer. From this job experience, I learned to be organized in my work, how to handle clients’ design requests, I expanded the Adobe tools that I am using such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, and also, they gave me the opportunity to lead a team of designers. As their leader, my responsibilities were to manage our load of tasks, QA artists’ designs, and designed artists’
career growth.

It was in 2019 when I started a work-from-home setup. I wanted to expand my graphic designing journey with foreign clients/employers. I am more delighted and motivated to become a reliable graphic designer after receiving compliments from my clients. But I am happier and more satisfied in the sense that I am able to help the company’s growth and success, than what I will gain. I am always open to new learnings and experiences. I can also adapt admin tasks like data entry and generate leads.

I hope we can be partners in reaching your team’s objectives and success!
