Jessica Fernando – Administrative Assistant, Healthcare

jessica-fernando-vaI am “Miles” to family and friends but known as “Jessica” formally to my colleagues at work, business clients and professional affiliations. I finished Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Trinity University of Asia – St. Luke’s College of Nursing. I am also a licensed nurse here in the Philippines.

I started working as a Pharmacy Assistant with one of the top pharmaceutical company. 6 months after, I was blessed to receive an offer for HR Supervisor and Benefits Officer with also one of the top retail company which I learned a lot of general HR functions. A year after, I tried working into a hospital setting to practice my profession as a nurse but as we all know, nurses here in the Philippines are not very well compensated. I went back to the corporate world and started working as an Operations Manager of one of the insurance broker here in the country. I’ve gained a lot of exposures with handling people, client’s concerns and how to run a business. I also underwent different trainings and licenses with both life insurance and non-life insurance internationally so I can provide better and reliable service to business clients. Since pandemic, I started to consider working from home permanently for the safety of my family. I underwent an extensive training on how to become a Virtual Assistant. I have an experience in coordinating with different insurance providers, scheduling appointments, conducting prior authorizations and live scribing.

With a decade of extensive work experience with different service industry, I am confident to share that I am passionate about people, processes, and tools. I am Innovative and tech savvy as I use various software and computer applications like Microsoft tools to make work efficient, accurate and fast. I am also using Canva and Pixlr to customise reports, presentations, and the like. This enables me to cater to various business and organizational needs and allows me to be organized and structured in completing and managing any project or work assignment.

My exposures and experience span through diverse companies and industries at varying business scales and sizes, from start-up to multinationals, enabled me to grow professionally and personally. I am go-getter, self-starter, solution-oriented and loves challenges that give me opportunities to further hone my skills. Equipped with the extensive experience I have acquired through the years, I am confident that I will be an effective and efficient Virtual Assistant.

jessica-fernando-vaI am highly organised and a multitasker being a wife and a mother of three. Running the daily household is an amazing race I always win as I juggle among different roles efficiently and seamlessly. When not at work, my interests revolve around family activities and creative crafts as I enjoy spending family time as a team at play. I am glad for the opportunity of working from home while being with able to spend time with my loved ones.
