Jett Calma Capati – Manager

I am Jett Calma Capati, graduate of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I graduated in 2013 at the University of the Assumption – but getting through college was never easy.

My sister and I had to be working students to be able to help our parents and for us to be able to go to the University to achieve our dreams. I needed to stop college to work for a year. I worked as a crew member at Mcdonald’s.

Fast forward, we were able to finish college and were able to provide and give back to our parents. I was hired as a Management Trainee. It was always my dream to be working with this company. Every year I was getting promoted, from a crew to 2nd Assistant Manager. Everything went well in my career, but there are certain things in life that we can’t control.

In 2015, my mum died. That was the most painful thing that I have experienced. She was the reason why I was working so hard. She used to scold me every time she saw me in front of the computer for hours playing online games until 5am. I know in my heart that she is very proud of me, as well as my dad.

Working with Mcdonald’s for 6 years has taught me a lot. From leading and developing people, to providing quality service, marketing, managing a payroll system, answering customer concerns, troubleshooting equipment, completing daily, weekly and monthly paperwork and more.

The other side of me is my passion for playing online games, surfing the net for additional new learnings which led me to be exposed to a career called “Virtual Assistantance”, which is very interesting. I knew a lot of people working as VA’s that inspired me. Seeing them learning new things, having a good career and enjoying their life at the same time made me decide to somehow change my career.

I think I am suited to this kind of job because I can use my experience from my previous job such as customer service, encoding products into our database and more.
