Hi, I’m Princess! I sold biscuits when I was in Grade School and did my classmate’s homework in High School and College to buy myself lunch and pay for my school projects. I must say, I learned at a very young age that hard work always pays off. On May 25, 2018, I was able to obtain a degree in Tourism Management. I flew all the way to Malaysia and got a job as an Administrative Assistant. Working in a new environment was pretty challenging. Out of 7 workers in the office, only 1 could speak a little bit of English since most of them are only able to speak in their local language.
Hi, it’s me Zeth, your Administrative Support Specialist and here’s my story. April 2015 I finished a degree in Agriculture and right after graduation, I was hired as a Farm Caretaker (piggery) and worked day and night to double my regular income. By July that same year, my Aunt told me to take the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists, but first I refused to accept her offer but eventually decided to take the challenge. I didn’t have a formal review at that time because of the situation. After a month of self- studying, the day came and the exam took three days to be completed. One week later, I received a phone call from my friend, Hans (one of my closest friends in college) saying that I’d passed the exam. At first, I thought he was just joking and suddenly another friend of mine texted me that I really passed the exam! After several weeks of thinking of jumping ship, I completely decided to end my contract with the farming company. I thought life would be easier if you have eligibility, but it’s not. I had a hard time landing a job after I resigned, so I was jobless for more than three months at that time and had no idea how to again get started.
I acquired my Bachelor’s Degree in Management at the Philippine School of Business Administration in 1998. In 2010 I was able to complete and obtain my Masteral Degree in Public Administration through the Department of Education Scholarship Program. Most of my training for the past 18 years was in the Regional Office of DepEd MIMAROPA. I worked in Office Management and was assigned at the Office of the Regional Director as the Administrative Assistant. I strongly believe that the learnings and skills I have developed were gain through my time there – as well as the experiences. During my tenure, I was awarded twice as Outstanding Regional First Level Employee.
