Matronelio Mativan – Reports Analyst, Customer Service Representative

Hello, I am Matronelio Mativan, you can call me “Myles”. I am single, living independently in my own mortgage house with my two beautiful pets. I studied at Siquijor State College, taking a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT). Way back years ago when I started working, I never thought that I’ll be in customer service despite my educational background with no prior experience.

In the succeeding years of working as a customer service representative, I thought of becoming more of myself. I decided to apply to a different company to work as a Technical Support, wherein I was dealing with multiple users who needed urgent assistance with their internet connection and modem, I also provided basic support, the time past I got the chance to get a promotion as back support level 2 escalation team and transferred to sales department.

No one saw what’s coming, and the pandemic happened. It was the most difficult time to make a decision where health is the most important, I can still remember the year 2020 my decision to prioritise my health and look for a company that would cater a work-from-home set-up.

Thankfully I got into a company who are doing remote jobs for all their employees. I started with the position of Help Desk Technician for two years where I assisted employees with their credentials onboarding and many. After two years, I got promoted to Incident Controller IC, where I processed major outages affecting the business or employees, communicated with clients gave updates and coordinated with the resolver group. Then after a year of working as an IC, an unfortunate thing happened to the account I handled and they had no other option but to retrench.

I didn’t give up. I tried to look for an open position in the company. The position that they were looking for is a Report Analyst which I have no background in but I assure them that I can learn new things, luckily I got the position and things are going well. I am able to fulfil my tasks, especially with the reports, creating scorecards, uploading data to the database, uploading files to BI, excel pivoting, and attending training and meetings. Then I realized that I am able to do my task at least two 2 hours of my shift. Therefore I am looking for something that I can make use of my spare time.

The idea of working remotely gives everyone a benefit to work-life balance. We have different experiences when working remotely but it gives a stronger feeling to work harmoniously.

Not only we can take care of our loved ones but also it will make us realise how to be great that we have a job that doesn’t require us to come to the office. And aside from that it encourages me to make sure I provide the best quality of work to my clients. Building trust and good relationships with them.

Therefore I think this gives me a chance to learn more new things. And really want to explore more about VA. I just give it a try if I get a chance to showcase my skills to the new environment.
