Jezah Decripito – Administrative Assistant, Real Estate, Sales

Jezah-Decripito-vaHi, My name is Jezah Ray, and I’d like to introduce myself. In short, I’m Jez.

“What is your current job?” some people wondered. “Oh, I’m a VA,” I always say. They’d give me a furrowed brow, which gives off this strange impression that they don’t know well about the industry. Nevertheless, some people admire and aspire to work as a VA.

These 2 main perks benefit me:

  1. There’s no need to travel and be stuck in traffic for an hour or so. One key thing I like is I can work in the comforts of my home, which is basically an essential need right now.
  2. People who work half-time from home can save money. Gas, car maintenance, parking fees, a professional outfit, out-of-pocket meals, and other expenses may all be cut back or eliminated altogether. These small sums add up to more money in your pocket.

By the way, I’m a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management graduate. I’ve always wanted to work in a 5-star hotel, wearing an executive uniform and wearing make-up. Something that defines who I am.

Not until I got hired at a 4-star hotel in our city after graduating. After all, it was a roaring success. However, the pandemic began, and the hotel industry was impacted.

I needed to go on, so I took a new path. In the BPO industry, I worked as a Sales and Service Specialist. Everything was a struggle for me since I had to overcome the challenges of dealing with various personalities.

Jezah-Decripito-vaI was fortunate enough to come across anything regarding the Freelancing Industry on social media. It was new and exciting, and it was a spot I would want to be. I quit my prior work and enrolled in a Virtual Assistant Online Course. As a result, it gave me the opportunity to grow and develop.

In May of this year, I began working as a Real Estate Virtual Assistant. It was productive, interesting, and challenging all at the same time. I’m now dealing with two clients, both of whom are in the real estate business, but in diverse situations. I’ve studied some of the tools used by Property Managers. I was astounded by how well-organized and distinct the Australian real estate industry was.

I’ve also dabbled in something that piques my interest. I’ve discovered a part-time job that allows me to utilize my skills in a new phase of my VA career. I worked as an Executive Assistant for a client for whom I only worked on weekends.

Every day is a step toward becoming a better version of myself. The only person I have to compete with is myself. I constantly go back to when I first started and am glad that I’ve grown and evolved into something I’ve always looked forward to.
