Judy Anne Lim – IT Support Specialist, General Virtual Assistant
Hello. My name is Judy Anne Lim. I am a dreamer, and I admit that I may not have a bucket list like others, but I have a vision that I want to achieve and destinations that I always dream of visiting.
I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a specialisation in Business Analytics. I could not imagine that I would have a degree with a course that was not even on my list and not even one of my choices way back when I was choosing my school in college. Truly, life is unpredictable, things and circumstances will fold and happen to how they should be and not on how we plan things.
I always dream of being in the medical field, but fate led me to the technical world. A different world from what I envisioned. From dreaming of holding a stethoscope and other tools for medical purposes, I am now more into holding the mouse and keyboard, facing the monitor and cameras, attending meetings, and performing different technical stuff.
I remember someone asked me if it was hard for me as I needed to adjust everything, and I needed to learn things as everything was new for me during that time. I said yes, it is indeed hard, but as they always say beginning is always the hardest. My motivation during that time was my family, my sisters, and my brother. I am the eldest, and during that time, I felt that I needed to work hard and drive myself to success so that I could help them. Whenever I think of the hardships and downfalls that we experienced as a family, it gives me a little push whenever I feel that I am tired and losing hope.
Truly hard work paid off. After a week, I got my bachelor’s degree and was accepted into my first-ever job. I was a technical support of an Australian-based company and worked for them for 2 years. My first job taught me a lot of skills. They allowed me to develop and learn from the best. It made me equipped for my second job, which is as an SAP Consultant wherein I work remotely during my second job I was able to talk to clients who are not Filipinos, and I was able to learn how to communicate and adjust comfortably. These experiences led me to my first ever virtual assistant work, which I am truly thankful for, as some of my dreams turned into reality it was an opportunity for me to take a risk and completely believe in myself that I can with the help of my experiences and values. I take every new opportunity as a blessing to learn and to equip myself for whatever challenges I may face to make my dreams into reality.
