Justine Norman Insong – SEO and Social Media Specialist

My story began with a young man, fresh from his missionary service, giving a talk in front of a large congregation in Zamboanga City. There was this lady (my Mum), who thought that he (the young man) was really very arrogant – particularly by the way he presented himself…

Later that day, they dated…

And then after having three children together, I was born!

Yep, I was born in the big ‘o – 1990. I grew up in a very large family of ten; 4 boys and 4 girls. We had to share nearly everything, including toys, etc. One day when I was 8 years old (we were living in Manila at that time), my father bought our very first computer. It’s still refreshing to recall memories of us taking turns playing a game on it. And funnily enough, even to this day, we still can’t believe our father was way ahead of us when it came to computers (back then)!

It was my first introduction to the world of computers. Apart from my love for computer games, I was extremely curious about how the computer works. By the time I was 14 years old, I could already type up to 90+wpm (thanks to Mavis Beacon!). By the time I graduated high school, I could do some HTML + CSS coding (thanks to Friendster Overlayout Option!). I could also do some great graphic design work. I can do layout designs, editing, anything really – except drawing. I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I last drew something with a pen and tablet!

After coming home from my missionary service I decided to look for a job. I began working at a call centre, which was interesting, but a part of me desired to work on more complicated, technical tasks.

I was hired to work homebased for the first time back in 2013 as a Virtual Assistant for a realtor. Back then my skills were the ones mentioned above plus some MS Word / Excel / Powerpoint skills (so not overly impressive). Fortunately, my employer was very patient with me and trained me in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). I was able to quickly pick up the skills and worked closely with him for a good 6 months until eventually he lost his business. I then moved to other employment gaining SEO skills, media marketing, and even some researching skills along the way.

Fast forward to present…

I have worked as a customer support representative, SEO specialist, social media marketing specialist, ebay listing specialist, and a graphic designer! Some would say I am a jack of all trades and master of none. To which I would reply that my 100% dedication in completing the tasks at hand (I hate saying 110%). I would often work many hours overtime (without my boss’ knowledge) because I just can’t sleep at night knowing there are unfinished tasks. Didn’t I say 100% dedication to doing this? 🙂

My end game is to be able to provide financially for my family, put a roof over their heads, and become a computer programmer (just like all of my sisters!).

I am very close-knit with my family, so I guess you could say hiring me means hiring my entire family (my wife and 2 children), as they provide the necessary encouragement and support for me to be 100% all the time.

I would be delighted, if you’ll give me the opportunity, to put that 100% into working with you.
