Karl Michael Narciza – General Virtual Assistant

I am Karl Michael S. Narciza. 24 yrs old and living in the Philippines. I am a middle child among my siblings. My father is a businessman and my mother is a housewife

I am a very creative and passionate artist. I have a talent for creating visual art. Ever since I was a child, I was always imaginative about my playing style with toys. I tend to create a lot of characters in Legos specifically robots and futuristic guns which I took inspiration from the video games I used to play when I was young.

At the start of 7th grade, I met some amazing classmates that eventually became my best friend and introduced me to anime. Since then I became motivated and inspired to draw anime because of his drawings and influence. From 7th grade to 8th grade, I already surpassed my best friend who was good at drawing and then on I drastically improved every year.

By the time I entered college, I wanted to change my art style to a more semi-realistic one. It was then that I found out that I was fond of creating tattoo designs and dreamt of becoming a tattoo artist.

And then the pandemic came and with it came a lot of problems specifically financial problems. I was forced to drop out of college and find a job in order to help with my family’s financial problems.

I first started out as a tattoo apprentice at a local tattoo shop. I have learned a lot during my apprenticeship. It honed my skill of paying attention to detail when it comes to safety hazards because being a tattoo artist is having responsibility for your client’s safety during the tattoo session. Being an apprentice also helped me to communicate with my clients better.

After my apprenticeship, I decided to get a real job and so I ended up working in a fast food restaurant as a kitchen crew. While working in a fast food restaurant, I have learned how to multi-task and work under pressure. In the end, the pay was not worth it for me for all the work I did but I did gain a lot of experience and insights on how businesses work.

After a year, I decided to try working a remote job as I think it is more convenient and less expensive. Discovering that I have a hidden skill in English communication, I then used it to my advantage to get into the field of ESL work. It was a good experience. I became comfortable speaking with foreigners.
Working as an ESL tutor enhanced my attention to detail again because one of the tasks of being an ESL teacher is to make a student report on their performances and I developed the habit of being on time for my lessons because of the different timezones my students have I have to adapt to it in order to respect the time they reserved for their lessons.

During my work journey, I have not laid down the pencil/brush nor forgotten my true nature as an artist. I still make art whenever I have free time and tattoo some of my friends. I also do digital arts so I am familiar with adobe photoshop.

After discovering the benefits of being a VA on TikTok and youtube, I was motivated and pumped to realize that there is a job that gives you an opportunity to earn more in a stress-free environment. So I decided that this career will be the best fit for me.

Although I am new to this field I will do my best to provide quality services with the skills I have attained in my journey. I am a hardworking, detail-oriented, adaptable and quick learner and ready to take on the role of a virtual assistant.
