Kemberly Badajos – Sales Associate, Cold Caller
My name is Kemberly Badajos, and I’m a 23-year-old graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Development Communication from Bukidnon State University. My college years were filled with learning and growth, not just academically but also through hands-on experiences. While studying, I worked as a student assistant at the university, which taught me valuable skills in time management and teamwork.
After graduation, I ventured into the professional world as a real estate cold caller. Initially, I was excited about the role and the potential it offered. However, I quickly realised that the company’s management was lacking in support, and the promise of a steady stream of clients never materialised. After several months of frustration, I decided to resign. It was a tough choice, but I knew I needed to pursue a position that aligned better with my goals.
I then applied for a role as a sales associate at a well-known convenience store and was thrilled when I got the position. This job allowed me to engage directly with customers, and I found joy in creating positive shopping experiences. Yet, after a year, I began to feel unfulfilled. I craved a role that would offer a better work-life balance, ideally a work-from-home job.
As I started looking for remote opportunities, I encountered a significant barrier: my old laptop struggled to handle the necessary tasks. Frustrated but determined, I decided to save money for a new computer designed specifically for virtual assistants. This investment was crucial; it symbolised my commitment to pursuing a remote career that would allow me to balance my professional and personal life.
Once I finally purchased the computer, I jumped back into the job search with renewed energy. I submitted numerous applications, but many companies didn’t respond. It was disheartening at times, but I refused to give up. Each setback reminded me that persistence was key, and I was determined to find a role that truly fit my aspirations.
I envision a job that empowers me to thrive both at work and at home. I believe my experiences—both good and challenging—are shaping me into a stronger candidate for the right opportunity. I remain optimistic and committed to my goal of achieving a fulfilling work-life balance.
My journey is ongoing, but I’m ready for whatever comes next. Every challenge I face brings me closer to my dream job, and I know that with patience and perseverance, I will find the right fit.
