Kenny Awa – Customer Service Representative

kenny-jay-awa-vaHey! I’m Kenny. You can call me Kenny, Jay (my second name), Ken, or Kenji.

I am a college undergrad of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT). I didn’t finish college since our department, which is the College of Maritime Education (CME), closed down because of the lack of educational facilities that are needed for our course. Also, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my life. I didn’t have great grades and that is also one of the reasons why my family did not send me back to college. If, and only if, given the opportunity, I would love to start over since I know what I really want now. Unfortunately, in my current situation, this is something I can only dream of.

Working is the only way I can prove to my family and to myself, especially, that I can still do something or even more with my life. I didn’t want to be like my father. He’s not a bad person, but he also didn’t finish college and didn’t get a job. So my mum was doing all the work.

And that is when my professional life started.

I started working in the BPO industry.

kenny-jay-awa-vaAs I continue to work, I’ve gained clarity, inspiration, and motivation on what I need to do and who I need to become.

I’ve learned how important communication is. I can even say that communication is the most powerful tool in the world, whether it’s verbal or written, whether you are physically facing each other or virtually. For almost 4 years I worked as a Customer Service Representative and as the years went by, my experience helped me make things easier.

However, the next few years were life-changing. I worked as a virtual assistant and that’s when I realised there are still things I didn’t know. It was fascinating and scary at the same time. Now that I’ve spent 3 years as a VA, I am now motivated to learn more about marketing – know, understand, and be an expert with the tools used and needed for the business to grow and profit.

This book titled “The Secret” is a book I haven’t really read but was intriguing to me the first time I saw it. So I looked for it online and found a video about it on YouTube. It was an amazing and eye-opening topic. What amazed me about this is that I have experienced what the speakers were discussing. I would honestly say that if I haven’t had those experiences, I would say that everything they said on that video were all lies and can never be done. So I urge everyone to watch or read anything and everything that can motivate and develop them.

I truly believe in what Napoleon Hill said, which is “Whatever Your Mind Can Conceive and Believe, It Can Achieve.”

From then on my mind is fixed on growing Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Intellectually, and Spiritually.

However, this does not make things easier. It needs repeated motivation and continuous work.

Afterall, Rome wasn’t built in a day!
