Lisha Mae Lalantacon – Accounting Technician

I believe the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.

Hi – I’m Lisha Mae F. Lalantacon and my story goes like this.

I am a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology last 2016. During my college days, I had my internship in a bank, particularly the Land Bank of the Philippines. One of the tasks assigned to me back then was to verify the details of the checks if correct and complete. After a month I was reshuffled in the bookkeeping section wherein I did the recordkeeping of files and bookkeeping as well. It was such a good opportunity to be working in a prestigious bank in the Philippines. I learned so much from there when it comes to handling pressure and organising.

After graduation, I worked in a palm oil company where I was assigned to the Inventory section. My primary task here is to monitor and record the in and out of the inventory and make financial reports. After a month, I was assigned as a payroll officer wherein I computed the salaries and wages of the employees and labourers. We are using SAP Business One and QuickBooks accounting software. It was such a good experience working in a manufacturing company for three months.

Being a resourceful and critical thinker, I thought of some ways how to earn more. Because I passed the Civil Service Examination, I tried to apply in the government because I thought of the security of tenure and also higher compensation than a private company. I applied to the Accounting Department of the Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat as a job order worker. Being a job order worker, I had to perform pre-auditing of financial transactions and claims, processing of checks and accountant’s advice, and preparing/issuing Certificate of Tax Withheld to suppliers and dealers.

After a year I was promoted to an accounting clerk wherein my duties and responsibilities are to assist in the preparation of the monthly bank reconciliation statement, update the subsidiary ledger of assigned subsidiary accounts, reconcile accountable forms inventory with the office of the Provincial Treasurer and assists in the supply management and control of accounting division. I believe my experience as an accounting clerk has sharpened my skills when it comes to handling new tasks.

I am also a Certified Bookkeeper and Certified Accounting Technician (CMA Australia). I am a very hardworking, persistent, organised, and flexible person when it comes to working. I put effort into every task assigned to me and I am confident that I am capable of handling new tasks and I am not afraid of new duties and responsibilities. Now, my new journey starts here as a freelancer and a virtual assistant. I assure you that I am striving hard to become a better version of myself every day.
