Maria Theresa Espejo – Social Media Manager

maria-theresa-soledad-espejo-profileIt is with pleasure I introduce myself. I’m Maria Theresa. You can call me “Tere”, “Theresa” or “Maria”, whatever you’re comfortable with. Here are a few things about me.

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and I am an only child.

My father works as a driver and my mother is a cook. They have provided me with a decent life and I am eternally grateful for them for giving me the opportunity to study in private schools all throughout my education. We may not be rich but we are living decently. I am immensely proud of both of them for establishing our small but lovely family and I could not thank them enough for it.

My love for the Food Industry grew because of my mother who is a passionate cook. I grew up loving the industry, which has lead me to be a part of it through my education. She encouraged me and I’ve been greatly blessed to have excelled in it too.

maria-theresa-soledad-espejo-vacationI’ve had 6 years of work experience in the food industry and I do believe that I’m good at it. This experience honed me to be the person I am today. I like to take that extra mile to help my team and deliver the perfect outcome. I don’t want to settle for anything less. I do it with consistency because my main focus is to provide customer satisfaction through quality, safe and delicious dishes.

I started from the bottom of the rank and eventually climbed the ladder to become a Supervisor. It taught me how to handle people, monitor and evaluate their performance. More importantly, I got to help them with their leadership skills and paved the road for them to become future supervisors. This gave me the skill and opportunity to improve myself in handling multiple tasks. It taught me to present possible solutions if ever there are problems and helped me become more resourceful. They gave me the opportunity to handle challenges that I thought I could not have gone through but have passed.

One night, I suddenly felt like I was stuck with my day job and that I was doing the things I was already very comfortable with and doing it every single day. My thoughts were “Is there a way for me to provide for my family while living my life?”

I wanted to change and challenge myself to do better while trying something different. It felt like I was in a dormant phase and I couldn’t be sure about my future. I was at that point in my life where I wanted to take over and plan a better future for me and my family.

I do believe in the saying that “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”.
That’s when I learned about freelancing. It took me a lot of thinking, overcoming self-doubt, and courage to start this journey. Right now, I have been learning skills so that I can be an outstanding Social Media Manager and Virtual Assistant. I’ve taken a freelancing course to start off and have been self-educating through online courses. With that, I am confidently and bravely facing this chapter of my career path.

My strength is my attitude: I like to take on challenges with the belief that I CAN DO IT. I do believe that I know what I want and I am determined to get it, even if I fail, I like to think that challenges always give us lessons to learn and that failure is just a stepping stone to reaching your dreams.

My goal is to grow my career in freelancing and work with reputable companies – and I would love to contribute to the growth of your success.

I am currently looking for new opportunities that would help me grow as a professional individual. I may not be the same as other people that have a lot of experience, but I know with my motivation and passion for serving others, I can be a great Virtual Assistant. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to work with you, and I’m looking forward to a brighter future.

Thank you for reading my story.
