Mary Joan Agapito – Bank Manager, Bookkeeper

Hello, my name is Mary Joan Agapito, Joan for short. I took a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy at Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College in Nueva Ecija, Central Luzon. Starting a new career as a virtual assistant takes me time and effort. Stay positive, be patient, and keep pushing forward. I am looking for entry-level positions to gain experience and showcase my capabilities in the virtual world.

With 14 years of experience in the banking industry, I have learnt skills in accounting (as a bookkeeper), banking operations, and compliance in an officer level position, and my last job was as a bank manager or the head of the branch who is in charge of sales and account management. Over the years, I have gained experience in financial management, customer service, and team leadership. My role is to give the best financial credit package to our clients in terms of financing needs according to their capabilities on their business wealth. We also cater to the agri beneficiaries to disburse their aid based on the agri-program. We have partnerships in government agencies in agriculture sectors that’s why I became more interested in the agricultural industry because of farmers different stories, given that my papa is also a farmer and we’ve been raised by our parents in this field of work.

Last July of this year 2024, I decided to switch from a successful banking career to a work-from-home role as a virtual assistant because of my desire to spend more quality time with my two children, Samantha 7 and Symon 5 years old. They are such lovely kids and I believe that they will become good people in the future. My Samantha girl is so sweet. This change has allowed me to use my skill set in a flexible environment while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

I believe that virtual assistance brings a wealth of knowledge and approach to every task. My background in banking has equipped me with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. I also adapt in handling administrative tasks, managing schedules, and providing top-notch support to clients.

In addition to my professional experience, I have a passion for farming, rice production, or the agriculture industry. Yeah! I love seeing the greenfield of rice! Every weekend I spend my morning routine on the farm with my family, my papa and mama, my two kids, and of course my farm venture, my younger sister Joy.

I am a happy married wife, my husband is an engineer currently working on the Batangas project. He goes home every two weeks, which is why we are in a long distance relationship.

My dedication to continuous learning and personal growth is evident in my proactive approach to new challenges and opportunities.
