Olerie Genotivia – Social Media Manager, ESL

olerie-marie-genotiva-vaHi! My name is Olerie but most of the people I know call me Ollie.

I was born and raised in the Philippines, grew up in a middle class family. I’ve always had this goal of being successful in the future. But I always ask myself, how do I really know whether I am already successful or not? Most people would say, “You are successful when you have plenty of money to spend on anything you want”. Some would say. “A successful person is content with what he/she has”.

Yes, I admit some of them were right, but later in life, I realised that being successful is not just about how much you earn in a month but it’s also about how happy you are in doing that job while earning money. Being successful is being excited to get up every day, because doing tasks to help yourself and your clients hypes you up!

I am currently studying Education major in Music and Arts, and I love it! As a music major, I get to work with talented musicians, gifted singers and generous clients. I’ve helped in organising events, concerts and social gatherings together with local and foreign people. As a Social Media enthusiast, I was given the opportunity to manage our Music Productions’ social media pages, run paid ads, reply to client queries and post content.

olerie-marie-genotiva-vaTwo years after getting into the university and until now, I started working as an ESL tutor, and I loved it even more! I worked with Japanese and Chinese clients, from ages 4 to 60 and it definitely tested my patience. I slowly got to know more of my abilities, what I can do and what I can still continuously learn. I’ve learned to manage my time and slowly got familiar with some in-and-outs of the internet world.

I could definitely say that I am a FIGHTER! I fight my own battles to learn, to help, to be happy and to be successful. In this world full of uncertainties, being a responsible fighter is the key.

To work with positive and productive people has been my goal! A place where I can make mistakes, learn from them, and apply them to become better and better. I would like to become successful with people who encourage each other and who also want to become the image of a successful person I’ve always thought to be!
