Rachelle Dicman – Customer Support

rachelle-trance-dicman-vaHi, my name is Rachelle Jade Trance-Dicman. I am a graduate of Mass Communication with the University of Baguio, batch 2013. I am the youngest child among four siblings, and a wife to a loving husband.

Like any other Filipino, I ventured into different jobs after graduating so that I could provide well for my family. I ended up as an English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor to different nationalities such as Koreans, Japanese and Taiwanese. After a few years teaching with different ESL companies, I realised that I was not making enough for my family and decided to enter the BPO industry. I was lucky enough to be with a company who offered a high salary and good health benefits. I stayed with that company for three years and in that span of time, I had forgotten to take care of myself. I got sick very often, I got thin and I did not have time for my family. I kept pushing myself to work because I knew that I received enough to be able to help out with my family’s needs. Everyday I woke up feeling exhausted and I was not happy with what I was doing anymore.

Before getting married in 2018, I decided to quit my job as a customer service representative for my health. I wanted to get physically better so I took a job as an administrative assistant in the Department of Public Works and Highways – Information and Communication Division. I handled most of the paperwork, filing, organising and reports. I was also in charge of requests from different divisions for technical needs. I assigned technicians who would be able to assist with the employees’ concerns about technical issues. I was happy with the work that I was in. However, the pandemic happened.

rachelle-trance-dicman-vaWhen the pandemic started in the Philippines, I was scared of what might happen to me and my family. So with that, I researched further about work from home settings and becoming a virtual assistant. I resigned from DPWH and started applying for different VA jobs.
The latest job I had was with was an Australian company. The company sold car parts through their website and through eBay. I was responsible for answering inquiries and customer issues through emails and inbound calls.

I take pride in my communication skills. I know that I can communicate well with people, written and verbal. I am knowledgeable in Microsoft applications. I have basic skills when it comes to Adobe applications and I am good in managing administrative tasks. I have learned so much because of the different job experiences I gained. I am thankful that I was lucky enough to be with these companies because without them, I would have never learned the skills I have now.

There is so much more to learn and there are so many opportunities out there. I would like to be able to work and grow with a company who cares about their health, families and the business. I am always willing to learn new skills and deliver the needs of my clients.

I have just recently started freelancing and I don’t have any clients as of the moment, but I am hoping to find one where I can apply my skills and at the same time learn new things. I am looking for someone I can work with for a long period of time. I am dedicated to building my career in freelancing and I am committed to whatever job assigned to me. I hope that we can grow together.
