Ralph Keith Villarin – Customer Service Representative

Hello! I am Ralph Keith Villarin. Most people call me Ralph or Keith. I studied Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at STI College. I wasn’t lucky enough to finish my degree, but I am still doing my best to improve and polish the skills that I learned when I was at school.

I am also a father of gorgeous kids. Even though life is rough, we still do our best to provide for the needs of our kids. I was thankful to have a partner that helped me out not just financially but emotionally as well. She knows how to comfort me when I am at my lowest point. My family is also the reason why I strive to be a good man, a better partner, and most importantly, a wonderful father to our kids.

Before I got into customer service, I was an attendant in an internet café. I worked there to learn more and to earn money, so I could help my family and myself as well. My very first customer service experience was amazing. The fact that I was talking to people from other parts of the world and helping them out with their concerns was so fulfilling.

After my customer service experience, I became a technical support member for a console. I admit it was not easy for me because it was the first time that I joined a technical support team. After my experience with technical support, I got a back-office job where we handled emails for our clients. It was the perfect job for me during that time.

Since I was working at home, I could spend more time with my kids while working. Then now, after a few years, I am back to being a customer service member, but this time it’s for healthcare. It is a challenge for me since we need to interact with elderly people, and for me, it is a great experience. Some of the elderly will give us advice about what to do and what to prioritise in life. I guess it is easier to speak with an elderly person who has already experience in life. It will be an experience that I will never ever forget in my entire life. Hearing words of advice from a person that we don’t even know personally is genuine knowledge and experience that we can treasure. That is why I believe in the saying “Listen to your elders, not because they are always right, but because they have more experiences of being wrong”.

With all the experiences I have, I can say that I’ve been through the ups and downs of my career and personal life. But thanks to the people who helped me get back on my feet. It’s not always an easy path for everyone. Always think positively and overcome all the obstacles that you encounter. We just need to take it one step at a time. Eventually, we will not notice we are already there. If you are not a good shot today, don’t worry, there are other ways to be useful.
