Overview
Rose Diane Basco – Accountant, Marketing Specialist, Business Development
Hi, I am Rose Diane C. Basco, you can call me Yan. I am a certified public accountant and have a diploma in taxation. I graduated with a degree in Accountancy from Mindanao State University-Main Campus in July 2017. I passed the CPA licensure examination on October 2017 and immediately worked for the government in December of the same year.
I started my employment career as an accounting analyst in the Department of Agriculture for two years. My main task is to input all the financial transactions in the government accounting system, maintain its ledgers and generate monthly and annual financial reports. Succeeding this, I had the opportunity to work for a foreign-funded project under the same agency for three years where I developed my skills in business development because the main objective of the project is to support enterprises – whose main products are agricultural produce and connect them to institutionalized buyers.
After five years of working for the government, experiencing the ups and downs of public service, and full 8-hours or more spent in an office set-up, I believe that I already spent enough time for that kind of work and that I need to transition to a more sustainable and time-efficient work set-up.
With the skills I acquired and guidance from my fellow friends, I was introduced to the concept of working from home through online engagements. No need to attend a physical office and time is spent in the comfort of our homes where we can be with our loved ones most of the time.
I am excited about the prospect of transitioning from an office-based to a home-based work environment as I see it as an opportunity to gain several benefits. Firstly, working from home would allow me to have more control over my work-life balance, enabling me to manage my time and energy more efficiently and ultimately leading to an increase in my productivity and overall well-being.
In addition, not having to commute to the office would save me time and money while also reducing my carbon footprint, in return will have a significant impact on my finances because it accounts for almost 43% of my daily expenditure. Working in a comfortable and familiar home environment would also help me to focus better and improve my job satisfaction. I believe that my skills and experience as an accountant make me well-suited for this type of work as I am able to work independently and manage my time effectively.
Moreover, with the advancements in technology, I will be able to collaborate with my colleagues and clients remotely, ensuring that the quality of my work remains high.
In conclusion, I am confident that transitioning to a home-based work environment will provide me with a range of benefits that will ultimately lead to an improvement in my productivity, well-being, and job satisfaction.
