Ross Banco – Administrative Assistant

ross-anne-banco-vaHi! My name is Ross Anne Banco. Here is my brief background so you can know me well. I took up Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management in Lyceum of the Philippines University. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given a chance to work in that field due to high academic standards here in the Philippines.

I came from a broken family. I took good care of my other siblings after I graduated. After 4 years, I landed my first job as a Project Management Secretary in a Construction company. I don’t have any experience on that since I am from the Hospitality field. But they trusted me that I could do the job very well and they were never wrong. I became one of the best employees in that company. My tasks were to provide administrative duties to the Construction team, do the payroll for the Construction workers, coordinate with the client for the billing, handle the billing of the sub-contractor and at the same time I became an Executive Assistant to the Project Manager.

While I was working for about 2 years, I got pregnant. I still worked at that company after I gave birth because my husband was unemployed. Years passed and my husband got his overseas job. I have a problem with who will take care of my son. He was too young at that time. I can’t resign because my husband’s contract was under probation. I always left my son to many people, some are not even my relatives. They were my sister’s classmates. I felt so bad until I decided to resign from my 5 year job. At first I was very happy that I could take care of my son, he’s not crying anymore when I leave. He is with me whenever I leave the house. But months passed and I felt there was something missing in my life. It’s my job. I felt useless and depressed that I didn’t have my own money and I was missing my career. I wanted to work again but how about my son.

ross-anne-banco-vaLuckily, in God’s plan I landed in my first Virtual job after several applications. I was hired as a Virtual Assistant to my Australian financial adviser. I have no experience on virtual tasks. But he gave me a chance to work with him. He taught me everything, step by step. I learned how to transcribe file notes, investment research, basic bookkeeping, encoding data to Xplan, graphic designing in Canva, handling social media accounts such as Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, updating websites via Wix and other administrative tasks.

It was my dream to work, live and study in Australia. But God has other plans for me. I can now work and take good care of my son without leaving him. I finally got a Australian job without going there. Unfortunately, my client hired office-based staff and he gave me limited tasks, most of the time no tasks at all. I want to be productive again and learn more skills.

The platforms that I am familiar with are Synchron Adviser, Lonsec, Xplan, Wix, Planoly, Canva, Whooshkaa, Eventbrite, Lastpass, Asana,Slack, Monday.com, Clickup and Headliner.

I believe I have the skill set that you’re looking for. I might not have a diploma in this field. Everyone may have good academics but not everyone is hardworking and that is me. I can wear many hats. I can assure you will not regret hiring me.
