Cherry Quinio – Social Media Manager

I always believe that every expert was once a beginner. And I believe that it takes dedication, hard work, and continuous learning to be an authority in what you do.

Hey there! I am Cherry Jane Quinio. Family and friends call me Cherry.

I began my career in the Tourism Industry as a Travel Consultant, then moved on to a Marketing Executive and a Tour Leader. I have been helping people and clients with their travel needs for over 15 years with satisfied customers. Helping people has always been my passion.

During those years, I have gained skills on how to get things done and how to actively listen to people with empathy. It is only by truly listening to your client’s needs that you will be able to deliver a great service. Just being passionate about what you do is not enough. It requires determination, commitment, and a lot of hard work. Of course, gaining those soft skills wasn’t easy. There were frustrations, disappointments, and a lot of “I can’t do this anymore!” brain confrontations. I must admit that dealing with people from all walks of life can be difficult sometimes. But I was raised not to just give up. Instead, I’ve learned from every mistake, how to handle things competitively, and not take things personally.

I would love to transfer these skills as a Virtual Assistant. For the past 7 months, I have been working hard to become a competent Virtual Assistant. I have been learning much more about working remotely, enrolled online, and learned new skills. I found my passion in Social Media Management and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Maybe because I have a rampant thirst for knowledge. And I believe these two are a fascinating career that never grows old, and is constantly evolving. You really need to stay updated because algorithms change rapidly. And I followed the blogs that are already authoritative in this industry to stay on top of my game.

I also volunteered as a Social Media Manager to gain experience and to qualify for an entry-level position. During those times, I learned basic graphic design and enjoy doing information design where I collect and gather information on a certain topic and present them as visuals. Yes, I can be nerdy sometimes… and somethings can’t be changed. 🙂

I also created a blog so I can improve my writing skills because I know it will be very beneficial in content writing as a Social Media Manager. I believe Social Media Management is a combination of critical thinking and creativity. I once read that, “Hard work breeds self-satisfaction, and performing one’s duties diligently enhances one’s character.” Those words were my compass when I was working in the travel industry and I would love to apply the same work ethic I used when I was a Travel Adviser.
