Julian Galvez – Customer Service Representative, Technical Support Representative

I earned my degree in Hotel Management in the Isle of Man, UK. After graduation, I came back to the Philippines to work in the Hotel Industry and eventually became an F&B manager as well as a hotel manager for a boutique hotel in one of the Philippines’ popular vacation regions. Back in Senior High School, I joined an exchange program and experienced life in the US midwest, living with an American family for a whole school year and graduated there.

I also delved into property management and my most prominent role was a Regional Mall Operations Manager for a popular mall chain up until around 2016. I then started my own business consultancy services until late 2018, and I have now partnered with a GPS monitoring and tracking services company. We mostly service public transport companies and private trucking companies.

Venturing out on my own in the business world was not always as great as I imagined it to be. In between my efforts to having my own thing going, I found myself in companies that were willing to take me in fast. I had a couple of stints in the BPO industry. First as a Technical Support Representative for an American personal computer manufacturer and as a Customer Service Representative for an Australian mobile enterprise.

Together with my GPS company, I have also explored working from home in mid 2019. I have had some experiences in helping to proofread, assist in copywriting and eventually in early 2020, I landed a job as an online English tutor and I have been enjoying it. I love the flexibility that it offers and I love how I am still able to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures and cultivate friendships.

As a regular person, I enjoy watching television shows and movies over streaming services. My weekend hobby is mountain biking and going to the beach. Traveling is something I cannot do at the moment but that is one more thing that I love doing.

I am generally a person who is easy to get along with and I do like having a good laugh every so often.

I love talking to people and on a professional level, I like finding out what makes the business tick and how I can absorb myself into it and help out in the best way I can.
