Adriel Reynaldo Louis – Accounting

adriel-louis-vaHi, my name is Adriel Reynaldo Louis, but people usually call me Adriel. I took Accounting and Finance major during my study time and graduated from University of Technology Sydney back in 2020. I currently run a family business and a start-up company in Indonesia as well as trying to utilise my time and knowledge to help others by being a Virtual Assistant.

Over the course of my studies, I also did part-time jobs, lots of student activities as well as doing internship while doing assignments and tests. I found that by having a lot of activities going on the same time is very interesting and challenging because those series of events help me improve to be a more hard-working, self-motivated person and most importantly to be better at managing time . I did an internship with Beviiva which is a start-up company. This internship gave me a lot of useful practical experience in professional work such as analytical skills, communication skills as well as my accounting and finance skill. Apart from doing internship, I had always been involved in a student organisation where I was appointed as a vice president during my final year in university. This position really strengthened my teamwork and leadership skills as I learn how to lead and manage a big organisation. Moreover, this position also improved my communication skills since I need to develop new relationships with external organisations, government body and companies. Even though it seems that my focus was diverted back then but fortunately I was still able to achieve a quite good GPA.

adriel-louis-vaSoon after I graduated from university, I got a job in Westpac Banking Corporation as a Specialist Finance Service team member. Unfortunately, I started right when covid and lockdown hit Sydney so my first job is practically a remote-role because during my 2 years tenure with the bank I had always worked from home. Originally, I was tasked to perform account receivable function which include processing more than 50 contract dispositions and fee waiving request from customer and Strategic Alliance partner on daily basis. Also, I was rostered to action more than 30 refund requests from customers and Strategic Alliance partner. However, after just around 3 months in the team, I have been moved to banking reconciliation side due to my accounting and finance background. In this role, I reconcile 5000 bank ledgers on average within half a day of work while this task typically should take one full working day and I successfully reduced errors in transaction by 50% within 1 month
At the moment, I am working in a family business where I am responsible to acquire new clients as well as being Co-Founder in my start-up company. In my start-up company, my job is to develop new partnership with other brand and various communities within the industry as well as managing the financial side of the company.
