Amarachi Esiaba – Executive Virtual Assistant, Project Manager

Hi, I am Amarachi Esiaba, you can call me Amara. I am an executive Virtual Assistant and project manager. I graduated with a degree in Nursing Science from Babcock University and spent over three years as a Registered Nurse working in various healthcare settings. Little did I know that my nursing background would prepare me for an entirely different but equally fulfilling path as an Executive Virtual Assistant.

After years in Healthcare, I sought a more flexible way to contribute my skills while balancing family life. I wanted to continue making an impact but in a way that gave me freedom to spend more time with my loved ones. The idea of working from home was new, unfamiliar, and a little strange, but I decided to take a step and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

At first, it felt strange trading scrubs for a laptop, but the skills I developed as a nurse translated seamlessly into my new role. Managing schedules, prioritising tasks, and handling critical situations under pressure are just as important in the virtual assistant world as they are in healthcare. Over time, I expanded my expertise to include project management and client relations. I’ve found immense joy in creating order and helping others achieve their goals, around different tasks.

One of my most memorable experiences was coordinating the development of a mobile App for a Client. I used tools such as ClickUp, managed tasks, tracked progress, and ensured deadlines were met, reducing delays by 25%. The success of that project reminded me of the satisfaction I used to feel as a nurse knowing my efforts had a real difference.

As a Virtual Assistant, I have also handled diverse tasks like creating presentations, managing payroll, coordinating travel for high-profile clients, and even training colleagues to enhance team productivity. Each challenge has been an opportunity to learn and grow.

What I love most about being a virtual assistant is the balance it has brought to my life. I get to be there for my family while still contributing meaningfully to the success of my clients.

I am excited about continuing to grow in my career and constantly looking for opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge. I believe there’s always room to learn and improve, and I’m eager to apply what I gain to both my professional journey and personal life. Each experience adds to my growth, and I look forward to seeing how I can use my new insights to make a greater impact in my work and beyond.
