Anjanette Bautista – Virtual Assistant, Advertising Specialist
Hello! My name is Anjanette R. Bautista, a 25-year-old graduate of Senior High School specialising in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. I am from the Philippines where joyful and reliant people lives. Growing up, I have witnessed my family to be quarrelling almost every day, eventually, it led to the separation of my parents and my younger sister died at a young age, which taught me to be independent and mature at that time. In my Elementary days, I suffered from bullying that caused me to transfer to another school, but once I got to my new school, it was still the same situation of bullying therefore, it made me distant and not approachable to my classmates.
Entering my Junior High School in Taguig City, I turned into a new leaf and promised myself that I would not undergo what I suffered from elementary school. I encouraged myself to be confident and to be open-minded to what other people may have in their own perspective about me. I got wonderful classmates that stood by my side always and supported me in what I love doing. Before finishing Junior High School, I met my live in partner at our province of Tarlac City and decided that we eloped because of the feeling of not being able to be away at each other. I transferred from Taguig to Tarlac to be with him and to continue my study.
Finishing Junior High School, I decided to take STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) upon entering Senior High School because I wanted to be a Medical Technologist or Nurse. I excelled at my academics and extracurriculars to pursue my dream. I got great friends at school and at the same time, I can do my obligations to my live-in partner like doing the laundry, cleaning the house and helping him at his work. I finished my Senior High School with an award of High Honors and proceeded to get an entrance exam to my preferred college.
Before taking the entrance exam at college, I organised and bought everything that I would need to enter college life, I passed the entrance exam securing a scholarship that gave me excitement to start my college career. Before the start of my college, I learned that I was pregnant for 3 months which led me to drop out before even starting, even though it was hard for me, I needed to do so to prioritise our family and to give my child the best. After my child was born, I decided to find a work that was suitable for me, I got the opportunity to be an online seller as a reseller and after experiencing it, I decided to be a distributor here in our province. Being an online seller was great, but there are days that we can’t produce enough sales weekly to make me go to the supplier to pick up the products. I started to find a new work and ended up being an agent to a mining aggregates company which provided us with great income daily, we also tried being a livestock trader, but this is only a seasonal job, and it seemed like a hobby to us.
Now, I want to venture into being a virtual assistant because it will give me the comfort of working at home and being able to achieve a work-life balance environment. I know that I don’t have any prior experience in doing this career but, I am eager to learn and broaden my knowledge in this career that I chose to take. I know that being adaptable, detail-oriented and an active listener will help me to achieve my dream of being a work-at-home mom. Thank you!
