Arantxa Biteng – Administrative Assistant, Transcriber

Hi! I’m Arantxa, you can just call me Ara.

I am a college undergraduate in Dentistry. Other than being a dentist, I also dreamed of becoming a lawyer, but my family did not want me to pursue it because they wanted me to take a course under the medical field. It was okay for me since I also love Science. I chose Dentistry because I was fascinated at how dentists manage to fix crooked teeth and on how they restore a damaged tooth. The reason why I have not finished my studies yet is because of the pandemic. Even when I was still studying, I was already working as a part time Virtual Assistant. My income helped me buy some dental materials and equipment required at school.

My first Virtual Assistant experience was offered by a friend. She asked me to help her manage tasks and I have learned a lot from that experience. Soon after, I tried to look for my own client. It was really difficult to find a client especially when you do not have enough experience. I have been rejected several times but that did not stop me from striving and reaching my goal.

So here’s what I did; I joined a lot of Work From Home groups in Facebook and read freelancers stories and advice on how to get a client. I also found YouTube videos on how to become an excellent Virtual Assistant. Whenever I see job postings requiring knowledge in some apps, I research and read about them. Reading really helps but make sure that the site you are looking at is reliable. After months of trying and sending applications to different company and clients, I finally found one. The job was mainly related to Amazon Seller Central. Additional tasks were web research and social media posting. Through this job, I was able to grow and learn more about being an Admin Assistant.

I am the kind of person who is not ashamed and will not hesitate to ask questions whenever I do not understand something. I am an outgoing and driven individual who is more than motivated to finish the tasks at hand and I always strive hard to deliver quality output.

During my free time, I watch documentaries, Netflix series, and sports. My favourite sport since grade school are badminton and volleyball. I wanted to become a gymnast but our school did not have enough resources to train gymnasts.
