Cynthia Obonyo – Social Media Manager

I would describe myself as energetic, ambitious, and highly motivated. When I set a goal, I work hard and diligently to achieve it. I am a great team player. I work with a team that helps me with different projects from time to time. The team is stronger together. Deadlines are non-negotiable for I work to exceed expectations by delivery before or at the deadlines.

My experience starts with a degree in computer science. I am currently pursuing a Master in Communications. I have certifications from Google Facebook on different skills that keep me up to date with current trends over the years.

Work experience

I have worked in 2 digital marketing firms and 8 media handling different kinds of accounts across all industries from Beverages like Flirt Vodka to Real Estate to Medical Clinics like Footsteps to Fertility and more. For five years I have honed my skills to ensure I deliver results as required by clients.

Due to this, I have. been given a speaking chance across digital marketing forums like Women in Tech sponsored by Google. I spoke at Women in Business forums to talk about marketing one’s business and how to gain a foothold in marketing

The reason why I want to work from home is I am a single mother and I want to be with my son. I see to it that despite all of those busy days with work, I can spend time with my son. I still have time to do my hobbies which are dancing and reading books and catching up on my local television show from time to time.

Life hasn’t always been easy for me. Experiencing pain and hardship has molded me into who I am. My desire to not give up and keep pushing to reach my goals where I can support myself and my son has been a key driver in the pursuit of excellence in everything I do. This pursuit permeates all my work conversations. The genuine aim of do really good work and take pleasure in the small steps that life presents.

My freelancing journey started 3 years ago after I moved out of the agencies and started my enterprise and it has been empowering and the fact I work together as a team with the clients to achieve great results we are both proud of. Act on something together with the same mindset we will both succeed.
