Elyn Sanchez – Bookkeeper

elyn-sanchez-vaFirst of all, I would like thank you for this opportunity. I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Elyn Trocio-Sanchez. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from De La Salle University in Ozamis City. I am a Certified Quickbooks Proadvisor and a Certified Xero advisor.

Before I entered freelancing in the virtual world, I had extensive experience in the corporate world handling accounting. My responsibility was to manage the Accounting Section, bookkeeping, billing, credit and collection, invoicing, bank and credit card reconciliation and the financial reporting.

Working in a corporate world was an everyday struggle for me, especially when I got married and had kids. Leaving the house as early as I could to go to the office so that I will not be stuck in traffic, then getting home to find my kids already asleep was not pleasant. Every day I did the rat-race situation. Sitting in a cubicle for 40hours per week or more, I felt guilty that sometimes I was not able to attend my kids’ activities in school and answering the associated questions: “Why?” (whaa, what I sad moment being a mum.) My husband was not able to be there either as he works abroad.

elyn-sanchez-vaThen late 2018 one of the parents in my kid’s school introduced me to working at home. So I researched about it and became so excited to read testimonials of how VA’s spent time with their kids while working at home.

I enrolled myself in an online university to get certified in Quickbooks and Xero and luckily I passed and got certified. Now I am happy to say “I am your Virtual Assistant!”. My work experience has taught me to value the time, work hard, give your best in anything you do and learn from mistakes. “The only source of knowledge is experience”.
