James Christian Ordiz – Real Estate Administrative Support

Hello, My name is James but others also call me Ian. I am a high school graduate in Accountancy and Business Management at Holy Name University. I also went to college for 2 years under Hospitality and Business Management but because of the pandemic, it has terribly affected us which made me drop out of college.

My father is a seafarer and it was difficult for him at that time to get on board which led to our major financial issue. Having a hard time earning, I have tried submitting applications and I ended up stepping my foot into the BPO industry as my first work experience and it’s where I was exposed to a different environment. I applied as a back office support agent for a US client, and though this was my first exposure to a new environment it didn’t take long for me to adapt.

In my role, I was responsible for critical tasks such as applicant screening, leasing, renewal processing, notice filing, and ensuring properties were ready for occupancy. I also managed delinquencies and created detailed reports. It wasn’t long till leaders had taken notice of my efforts which made them appoint me as my team’s point of contact. As a point of contact for my team, I excelled in client communication and collaboration, ensuring smooth daily operations. My expertise lies in streamlining processes and maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency in data management.

Outside work, my way to relieve stress is gaming, travelling, cooking, building model kits, and a bit of exercising. I also tried expanding my technical skills outside of work by doing live streaming/content creation, photo, and video editing.

Being able to show a new side of myself to everyone and my team was a great experience knowing that it was also my first time. It has been a while but I also want to improve my skills and broaden my perspective outside my own comfort zone. I think this is one of those opportunities that I have been waiting for, understanding the company’s culture and atmosphere, having a positive outlook, constantly offering your best effort, and taking responsibility for your job in all areas are all crucial for success throughout the years.

When you put your best effort into understanding, asking when necessary, and taking responsibility for your actions, no challenge is too big for everyone to handle. I have been at my best ever since but It will stop me from further enhancing my skills and grow my career.
