Jane Zuraya Comia Arizabal – Administrative Assistant
Hi, I am Jane Zuraya Comia Arizabal. I am 37 years old and I am from Batangas City, Philippines. I am a wife and a proud mother of twins.
I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in the Lyceum of Batangas.
After graduating from college, I joined the BPO industry as a Customer Service Representative and worked with several companies in Manila.
I must say, I enjoyed and learned to love the experience. Talking to people from different places made me feel grounded and opened my eyes to different cultures and behaviors.
I have handled multiple accounts throughout my journey as a customer service agent. I was assigned to financial accounts as a telephone banker (international banks, in the U.S. and the U.K.), satellite service, in-house legal publishing as well as telecommunication accounts in the U.S. and Australia. One was Telstra, an Australian Telco company.
I attend product training every time I get to be assigned to a new account. I do inbound and outbound calls, a bit of technical support, basic troubleshooting, and basic sales (soft selling). I also do basic email tasks depending on the customer’s request. The training helped me a lot to enhance my skills. It taught me techniques on how to be effective and excellent in what I do. I make sure I apply the learnings I had during my training while I am at work.
Working in a call center requires adaptability and teamwork. I am happy to be working with others, collaborating and sharing ideas at the same time. On the other hand, I am confident that I can still work independently and effectively.
Being in this industry is not an easy job. It is very challenging and rewarding at the same time. It helped me learn the art of multi-tasking, time management, and aiming for excellence in providing customer support.
Even though there were challenges and difficulties along the way, I learned to love and master the job since I stayed with the BPO industry from 2007 until 2018 after I gave birth to my twins. Because I have kids to look after, it is very tough for me to manage my time taking care of them while I leave the house to work.
Commuting is one of the biggest challenges here in the Philippines, especially if you are to take public transportation. I must say, transitioning to work remotely is a very clever decision for me. I can take care of my kids while I work and help the family financially.
I know I can work best and provide more if I am confident that I am also doing a good job as a parent, at the same time. I know I will be able to contribute to the company with all the skills and experiences I had over the years. I hope I will be given a chance and be considered for this role. I am more than willing to learn and to be trained for me to be effective in this position.
