Jea Lyka Cinco – Online Marketing Researcher

Hi! My name is Jea Lyka. You can call me either Jea or Lyka 🙂 I was born in Davao City, Philippines.

Before I entered the BPO industry, I was taken under the wing of my boss during my on-the-job training in my college as Reservation and Ticketing Officer in one of the known travel agencies in my hometown. I graduated Tourism Management and earned a unit of Education. With hardships and dedication, I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

I decided to submit my resignation as Reservation and Ticketing Officer because I chose to jump at the opportunity to perform outside of the Philippines. I am part of a cultural group, and we perform and educate others about the culture of Mindanao (specifically here in Davao City) both locally and internationally. So, I took that window of opportunity and performed outside the country for a short period of time.

When we returned to the Philippines, I had to look for a new job. That was when I tried the BPO industry. I enjoyed working in this field as an Online Marketing Researcher, and performing Lead Generation and Data Entry because I felt I was excelling and good in this job. I felt that way because of the awards and compliments I received during my tenure.

After two years, I tried another company, applying for the same type of job. The eagerness to do the job right was still there, and that was the reason why I was awarded as the Employee of the Year in my first year of working in the company. All my hard work paid off. I continued working with passion and eagerness.

I love travelling, I really do! Climbing mountains, visiting falls and island hopping, backpacking, etc. Though I was always requesting vacation leave, I still managed to reach the quota and be one of the top agents most months. I really made sure that I had my work up-to-date before my leave, or I performed double-time to reach the quota post-vacation.

I am not perfect. I am not always good and sometimes I fail. There are many things that I still need to learn. I just really work hard to overcome my weaknesses. I am just really thankful and grateful for everything.

I’ve been in this field for years. I really work with passion, sincerity and quality. I always make sure that I finish my work as soon as possible. I am really avoiding to disappoint my clients/bosses as much as possible, that’s why I am doing my best to do my job right. Yes, I may not be perfect but I assure you that I can up-skill or deal with problems immediately. I am willing to learn and very open for any suggestions or negative comments because I know that everyday is a learning process.
