Jean Espayos – Administrative Assistant

jean-tanya-espayos-vaHi, I’m Jean!

Choosing what course I will take during my last year of high school is not an easy thing for me but I am thankful for having parents that didn’t put too much pressure on me. Having people around me with an accountancy profession made me decide to take BS Accountancy as my chosen course. Despite enrolling in this course, I ended up shifting to BS Accounting Technology and finished it with a good grade last 2017.

Thankfully, months after graduating, I was hired into one of the government agencies in Quezon City and I am still working there up until now. I was assigned to the Finance department and it is one of the greatest things I am thankful for. I am able to apply what I’ve learned in college. Working with great people helped me to hone my technical and communication skills. Being a jack-of-all-trades serving not just one boss helped me to improve in multi-tasking, decision-making, and adapting to learning new things. Being assigned to record every voucher that we are processing helped me to develop of having a strict keen eye for detail. Having accounting & budget-related responsibilities, taught me the importance of versatility and I am delighted of experiencing it every now & then.

In 2019, I was able to encounter Upwork and was able to have my first contract as a transcriptionist. This made me realise that I can also pursue having another source of income. Even though my first contract didn’t last long, I am still able to stay connected with that client and she still gives me something to work on every now and then. Experiencing this kind of flexible work motivated me to apply for jobs and soon, find the right client for me at the right time.

In the second quarter of 2021, I luckily got a part-time job as an Administrative Assistant for a real estate company for which I am under performance evaluation for 3 months. My tasks include generating realtors lists, Craigslist posting, Google Sheets, CRM updating, Data entry, and Email Campaigns. Having team members who are always approachable, goal-oriented, and sees me as a family as well, really touched my heart and driven me to always do my work well. This job not just gave me monetary benefit but a group of warm people who also have a big heart.

Achieving time & financial freedom is one of my greatest goals. I believe that having a stable and 6-figure income a month while working comfortably anywhere is a big tool. Hopefully, I can achieve this soon and I hope that the right clients will come at the right time.

Whenever I have free time, I love to cook and bake something for my family. I also love singing and watching Chinese and Korean dramas.

Thank you very much for your time in reading this short glimpse of my life. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
