Josiah Nel Fernandez – Copywriter

My name’s Josiah Nel Fernandez, a former Filipino ex-pat for more than 10 years, and I am now back in the Philippines bringing with me valuable lessons, stories, and experiences through the wonderful people of diverse backgrounds and cultures whom I have come across with.

To step back a bit, I graduated with a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Emilio Aguinaldo College, in Manila.  I am also a recipient of a Certificate in Theology from the Laloma Bible Institute, Quezon City. After this, an opening to volunteer with a Non-profit Organisation working with vulnerable communities and individuals led me to my first overseas experience.

Living and working abroad I guessed is not for everyone especially if the host country is not as developed as your home country. However, having the proper perspective will make someone cherish the simplicity of life.

Fast forward to 2019 when I first learned about the freelancing industry. I cannot deny that skepticism took over initially, but happy to be led by groups of like-minded people with a desire to have more time with their precious individuals in their life at the same time earning sufficient income to live the life they choose.

Started as a general VA in my early years working remotely but through online summits and other workshops, I have discovered other specialised skills, mainly email marketing and copywriting. I took some risks, I went ahead to find groups and invested in programs and courses from the best people in the digital marketing industry.

I am a believer that we ought to be lifelong learners, therefore, my freelancing path is about learning, applying, and testing to find out which works and which one doesn’t. I have still a long way to go but I know I have gone way beyond where I was when I started.

I am glad to see my very supportive, caring and beautiful wife and our three wonderful children benefit from this industry that I have chosen.
