Kim Caballes – Administrative Assistant, Customer Service

kim-jomarie-caballes-vaHello everyone!

I am Kim Jomarie Caballes, 25 years old from Davao City. To tell you honestly about me, I am an amateur singer. I started singing when I was 5 years old. I love singing and joining singing contests. My family is very supportive, especially my mother who is always on the go whenever there is a competition. Because of singing, I get to experience travelling to different places outside of Mindanao.

I knew deep inside that I can achieve great things with my talent, but it all changed when I reached High School. I realized I was not happy anymore with what I was doing. I love my mother, but I was greatly discouraged by what she showed me. Performing on stage is not easy, but whenever I have finished the performance, my mother would always compare me to the other contenders. This has greatly affected my confidence throughout the years. I lost my confidence and stopped joining singing competitions. I decided to focus more on my study.

I graduated Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in 2016. Luckily, right before I graduated, I landed a job in the Department of Labor and Employment. It was not a permanent job but still, I was proud of myself for getting a job and was not relying on my parents anymore. After that, I decided to experience working in the BPO industry. This was my first real job. I call it real because it was not easy. Most of them say why work in a BPO when I am a college graduate? Well, I told them to try working in a call center and they’ll find the answer why.

The first BPO company I have worked for is Concentrix. I worked as an Amazon Seller Support and eventually transferred to Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) support. I assist sellers from Amazon and help them in their business journey. I worked there for 4 months only because I was not confident handling calls at that time. I remember crying one time when I handled an irate seller. I gave up and looked for another job.

kim-jomarie-caballes-vaI got my third job as a Virtual Assistant in Focusinc Group of Company. Thanks to my experience as an Amazon seller support, I was able to get this job easily. I worked as an Order Processor. I processed all orders from Amazon, Walmart, and eBay in our Go Flow system. I checked SKUs one by one if it matches the listing in our supplier so that there won’t be any problems when they received their orders. I also communicate with our suppliers whenever there is an issue with the order.

I have been in this company for 2 years, but due to the pandemic, my client had to let me go just to save money. So I had no other choice but to find another job again. This is when I started working from home.

My client from the previous company contacted me again to seek help. He wanted me to join his team directly. I grabbed the opportunity as this will also help me to work from home. My task is the same as before since I am working with the same client.

I guess this is where I will end this. Thank you for taking the time to read the portion of my life and my experiences as a Virtual Assistant.
