Maria Cecilia Orano – Customer Service Specialist
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
Life for me has never been easy. I was born in the beautiful province of Bohol, Philippines. My father is a company driver, while my mother is a housewife. I have two brothers and a sister.
Ever since I was a kid, I really wanted to be a teacher. I studied Bachelor in Secondary Education for one semester then needed to stop due to financial issues. I shifted to a Diploma in Information Technology as I discovered that the IT profession is in demand. I completed the 2-year IT course and started out to find my luck in another province.
I landed a call center job as a Customer Service Representative wherein I helped the customers with their questions and needs with regards to their mobile services. I am proud to say that I’ve been a consistent top agent throughout my Customer Service Representative career for 4 years.
I fell pregnant while I was still with the company and after I delivered my daughter, I needed to leave her with my parents because I needed to go back to work so that I could support her financially.
Leaving my daughter behind was the worst decision that I made in my whole life because I only got the chance to be with her for 2 months (during my maternity leave). She passed away at the age of 4 months due to heart failure… and that was the darkest moment of my life. Even with the trials that I encountered, I still managed to perform my tasks until I decided to explore a career change.
I became a Technical Support Representative where I helped customers with their basic troubleshooting needs. I worked in an Internet Service Provider company and the customers would call us if they had issues with their internet connection. I talked the customers through the troubleshooting steps to get the internet working again. I stayed in the company for 3 years and 5 months. Then I needed to quit my job because I was blessed to become pregnant again.
I delivered my second child in May of 2018 and I decided to stay with her and take care of her. She is my inspiration. I am now working as a Virtual Assistant so that I can apply my knowledge and skills to helping my client while attending the needs of my child. I made up my mind that I will do my best to take care of my clients so that they will not regret their decision in choosing me. I will honour their trust in me and see every task through to completion.
