Maria Espacio – Administrative Assistant

maria-cristina-espacio-vaHi! I’m Maria Cristina Espacio – a graduate of Bachelor’s of Science in Medical Technology and living in the Philippines.

I became a mum when I was 22 years old. At that time, I had to make sure that I was able to take care of my son both physically and financially. The first job I had was as an English tutor for Korean students. It was fun because I got to meet different students with different characteristics all the time. I also gained a lot of friends through my students and colleagues. However, the salary was not enough to make ends meet so I had to look for greener pasture.

In that same year, the first BPO company in our city opened. I applied and worked as a Technical Support Representative. My job included helping customers fix their internet and email problems. After more than a year, I moved to a bigger BPO company and worked there for 6 years as a Technical Support Representative. From these 2 companies, I learned the value of time and professionalism. Catering to customer’s concern was always not easy. Every time I answered the phone, I never knew what I was going to hear, however, this helped me to become patient, a good listener and a pacifist at times.

maria-cristina-espacio-vaMy son was growing up without me by his side since I had to work evenings and be asleep during the day. Later on, I decided to try work from home instead; that way I can look after him and at the same time earn a living.

I gained several experiences during these time. I began as an auction tagger. I classified the things that were going to be auctioned based on their photos and description. I also became an online IELTS speaking teacher for Chinese students. I worked part time as Leads Specialist for an Australian company. Recently, I am working as a Virtual Assistant to a Podiatrist in Texas. My job description includes setting up appointments, making follow ups, creating patient charts and making notes after the visit.

I am proficient in using G Suite, Dropbox, Microsoft Office and Traknet. In my previous jobs I learned how to use Canva, Trello and Monday as well.

I am always eager to learn and hungry for more knowledge. The experiences I had in the past helped me to be proficient and efficient in my job. I am definitely trainable and can work without supervision. If I am what you’re looking for, then I’m just an email and phone call away.
