Mary Figueroa – Administrative Assistant

mary-antoinette-figueroa-vaGood Day! I’m Mary Antoinette Figueroa, 48 years of age, married and have 3 kids. Currently waiting for the cruise line up. I had been working as a Senior Assistant Purser with Princess Cruises for almost 19 yrs.

My husband is a seafarer too , Production Manager and is onboard at the moment. Our sons’ ages are 23,18 and 13 years old. At the moment, I am busy with our small business which is Rmiddleton Food Hub with homemade Takoyaki and Ice Cream Float. We have our oil based perfume business, too.. We are so grateful that our sons are not engaged in material things and they are content with what they have. I can say that this pandemic helped us with longer bonding times and appreciate our time together. It is more advantageous to have online classes as we have utilized our house as we have lived in our condo in Quezon City for almost 5 yrs and a 1/2 with their face-to- face classes.

I can say that we are a happy family content with what we have, however we need to save more in order to support their studies. My husband and I were very supportive to each other and we don’t have any problems at all.
With more years of savings and business expansion, I can see myself taking care of my sons’ growth which we’ve missed a lot but we see to it that we communicate endlessly on which they all understand. We can’t have all that we want in one go and sacrifice is the only key to struggle in life. We advised our sons that we will support them in whatever their plans and goals in life may be. Like our second son wants to be a doctor, he enrolled already in De La Salle Taft Manila and our youngest is still undecided whether he will take architecture or bio-med, too early for him to decide as he is in his grade 8 level.

mary-antoinette-figueroa-vaI am a hardworking person, can multi – task daily task, knows how to handle people without stress as I believe that there’s always a room for improvement and we need to motivate our staff to perform well because their failure is my failure and their success is my success because we work as a team and we will support and coach them in lieu with business strategic plan aiming for one goal and one vision which is to share our hearts and create lasting memories in and out of our job. With my 19 yrs in the hospitality industry, I learned so many things and have worked with different nationalities onboard the ship. My job is a 2 stripe Officer on which I can be assigned in a full contract with either GSM – Guest Services Manager or CRM – Crew Manager. With GSM’s job, I am holding a cash vault in charge of all the Guest Services Officers cash handling in Front Desk and managing guest complaints, providing them with positive feedback. With the CRM’s job, I am in charge of all the crew logistics, administrative, and cash handling too. Attending to all crew concerns like payroll, crew immigration adhering to all port requirements.

Working overseas is not that easy being away from our families but I believe that so long as you have your commitment, communication, and dedication towards them, life would be easier as you can think of.
My family is my utmost priority and I will do everything for them no matter what it takes.
